We have names!

So after much deliberation....this little munchkin has a name. If Baby Wilo is a girl, she will be Grace Marie. Grace is my middle name, my mom's middle name and my grandmother's first name. Marie is Phillip's grandmother's middle name. If Baby Wilo is a boy, he will be James Phillip. James is my grandfather's first name and Phillip is pretty obvious!

Baby Wilo update

I am SO bad about updating!

How far along? 26 weeks!
Total weight gain/loss: I'm up 5 lbs
Maternity clothes? Oh yeah. I still wear a few pre pregnancy tops, but they are TIGHT!
Stretch marks? Nope! Yea for good luck so far!
Sleep: Its not great. I wake up a lot, but I'm getting SO much better about falling back asleep.
Best moment this week: Seeing the baby again at my 4D u/s. The baby looked perfect and we are getting more excited!
Movement: Oh yeah. Mornings and late nights seem to be Baby Wilo's favorite times to dance.
Food cravings: None now...the problem is being able to eat meat!
Gender: Still thinking boy!
Labor Signs: None, thank goodness!
Belly Button in or out? SO close to popping out.
What I miss: Eating meat and walking without someone settling down LOW!
What I am looking forward to: 3rd Trimester. 2nd has been for the birds.
Milestones: Supposedly Phillip might be able to hear the heartbeat by putting his ear to my belly. I have my doubts!

A question for my mommy readers...

Did you guys use crib bumpers? I am torn about it because of the safety issues. If we don't, then I'm probably just going to make a bed skirt and buy some sheets. Then once Baby Wilo is rolling around in the crib, we'd get one of those breathable bumpers (even though they are NOT cute).

What's going on with Baby Wilo...

I stole this survey from another blog (and have seen it on many others). Its mainly for me to look back on as the weeks go by.

How far along? 17 weeks!
Total weight gain/loss: Still down 2 pounds from pre-pregnancy weight
Maternity clothes? All of my pants except one pair of capris. I can still wear most of my old tops, but I DO have some cute maternity tops.
Stretch marks? Nope!
Sleep: Kind of crappy. I wake up several times a night. But I got my awesome Snoogle pillow and its helping my back and neck.
Best moment this week: Seeing a perfect baby on ultrasound for the first time!
Movement: Nope. I have an anterior placenta, so I probably still have a few weeks!
Food cravings: Beef. Particular McDonald's (gross!)
Gender: Not finding out. But I think boy.
Labor Signs: None, thank goodness!
Belly Button in or out? In but its getting wider!
What I miss: Sleeping well. Thankfully its getting a little better.
What I am looking forward to: Picking out furniture and bedding!
Milestones: The baby has fingerprints now!

Meet Baby Wilo!

We didn't get the great pictures until they used some contraption (aka the Baby Taser) to wake the baby up. Baby Wilo is breech right now with a strong heart rate of 157. My placenta is front and center right now...so it may be several weeks before I feel kicks and punches. But my OB assures me that once the baby starts...it will never end (kind of like once they start talking!).
We have a lot of other pics, a CD and a DVD...but I didn't want to go crazy on here. Still measuring on track for January 26!

Bedding Opinions

So we are not finding out if Baby Wilo is a boy or girl (much to Lori and Mom's dismay!). But that presents a dilemma when it comes to bedding. So, if you have an opinion on any of these, please let me know (ex...too girly, too boyish...just plain ugly!).

I definitely have a favorite, and some of you will know right off the bat which one I'm talking about. But I am curious for some other opinions!

Big news....

Sorry I have been so bad about updating. But its because I've known something since May that I couldn't share until now!

I'm pregnant!

We are expecting our first child on January 25 and are extremely elated. We heard the heartbeat for the first time yesterday and are on cloud nine. We will have our first ultrasound on August 17 (where we could find out the sex...but Phillip is determined not to find out).

So I promise to update here more often and please keep us in your thoughts and prayers!

He's kind of a big deal!

Just in case there is anyone who reads this that I'm not friends with on facebook....

....Phillip is kind of a big deal!


I am so incredibly proud of him. Many of you know our frustrations with the way he's been shuffled around at CACC because of budget issues. I've shed many tears and said many prayers about it. Throughout it all, the most important thing to him has been his players. So this is an extremely gratifying award. Please keep me in your prayers regarding this whole coaching ordeal. It is too easy for me to be selfish and sometimes not see the big picture!
And please keep Phillip and his team in your thoughts and prayers this week. They are in Dallas for the men's national championships. This is the last year (hopefully its temporary) for men's tennis at CACC (dang budget again!). The boys won their conference last month, and hopefully they will finish well at nationals (It is HIGHLY unlikely that they will win the NC...and we are FINE with that).
Please continue to pray that we will find a buyer for our house. The process has been a lesson in patience (that I needed pretty badly!). But we are learning to make our home wherever we happen to be!

wants to know where I want to go on vacation for our anniversary/my 30th Birthday.

He hasn't told me any limitations...but I imagine (knowing him like I do) that he will

1) Want to drive there ourselves
2) Not be a "beachy" place...but I did tell him that with it being mid July...if we go somewhere hot, I want a beach nearby.

So leave me some ideas...please!

I LOVE Spring!

If we are friends on facebook, this will not come as a surprise....but I love gardening! I thought I'd share some of the fruits of my labor over the past several weekends.

Phillip is extremely indulgent of my hobby. He doesn't blink an eye when he comes home to find several new additions to the yard.

After a failed backyard attempt (that resulted in a lot of frustration and tears) when Dawson was a puppy, I've focused on the front yard the past 2 years. We don't have a lot of room out there, but I think I've made the best of the situation...

And yes, we are still selling the house. I know I am putting in a lot of work in a space that I hope not to be in for too much longer, but it makes me happier while we are here. And I WILL be taking some of the plants with us (roses, hydrangea, lilies and whatnot...)

Now that I am seriously running out of room in the ground, I'm turning to container gardening. The plant spilling over the side is Nasturtium. They are one of my favorite flowers...I cannot wait until they start blooming.

Of course, the dogs don't understand why I am spending so much time in the front yard, rather than in the back with them. I think this pretty much sums up their opinions on the subject!

Patience

I struggle so much with patience. In my work. In my home life. In the people I deal with on a daily basis.

Margaret Thatcher once said, “I am extraordinarily patient provided I get my own way in the end.” I know what she meant. I want what I want when I want it!

So my friends in the blogosphere...please remember me in your thoughts and prayers. I want to wait on what God has planned for me. I want to live Phillipians 4:11-12!

Davis Cup

Just a quick hello before I head to the BJCC to see the amazing American Davis Cup team face the Swiss. I'll get to see James Blake and Andy Roddick play today! And tomorrow its the Bryan Brothers! Phillip spoke with Blake on Tuesday, and he is SO proud of it. I just hope to get good pictures. And while I am sad that the second love of my life, Roger Federer won't be there, at least I can pull whole heartedly for the good ol' USA!

I hope you all have wonderful weekends planned. It seems like the weather is going to cooperate beautifully for the South.

I'm Back!

I know its been FOREVER since I've posted anything. No excuses...nothing too exciting. Just laziness. We had a wonderful Christmas, despite my having to work on both Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. The vet school determined we should be open in order to serve our clients...well, our clients didn't really agree. We were completely dead. No one wanted to spend thousands on their animals during the holidays...especially in this economy, Can I really blame them? I got this lovely number for Christmas


and I have yet to use it. I have some patterns I plan on attempting soon. But once my sewing table came in, it was time for our vacation, and in the week since we've been home...we've been a little busy. More on that later.

We got back a week ago from a wonderful vacation to Walt Disney World. I know...it may seem odd for two adults with no children just to take off for WDW, but we had the best time! When we left home, it was freezing and we arrived in Orlando to upper 70s temps. And yes, I called my dad and bragged about it. Little did I know that Orlando was in store for their coldest snap in several years. Not only COLD but WINDY! But despite the cold, it was so much fun. And I'm glad we did it before we have kids!

Once we got back, we've been busy bees around the house. Because come Monday, our lovely little townhouse is up for sale!

I really hope we find a buyer soon and can start seriously looking at other houses. I'll be sad to leave here in a way, because its been our cozy home. But I am looking forward to being in a home where we can hopefully expand our little family.

So that's the abbreviated version of what the Wileys have been up to lately.
